The useful answer

First confirm that everyone has the Moonfrog app and a current version. A social invitation, a friend list and a private table are different features. Use only the invitation or table options actually offered in your current app, and agree the format before the session.

The first mismatch often happens before anyone draws a card

“Rummy Gold” can refer to more than one search result. Ask each person to check the publisher shown in Google Play, rather than compare icons in a forwarded image. Our download page identifies the Moonfrog listing. Someone using another rummy application will not necessarily see the same lobby, invitation or player account.

Next, compare the broad game format. A group expecting a relaxed thirteen-card session may find a fast table stressful even when the connection is perfect. Agree a short first session and leave time to understand the controls. You do not need to buy chips simply to prove that a friend invitation works.

What each social feature actually means

FeatureWhat it can establishWhat it does not establish
Invitation link or share actionA route into the app or its supported social flowA reserved seat or guaranteed private match.
Friend or social-account connectionA recognised identity or relationship inside the supported featureThat every friend is online or using the same game version.
Private-table option, if presentA table flow governed by its displayed access rulesThat a public invitation automatically creates such a room.
Public multiplayer tableA place to play against other connected playersThat the next opponent will be a particular friend.

A low-friction session plan

  1. Choose the host of the conversation. One person can describe the lobby they see, so everyone is not following different menu paths at once.
  2. Check versions before the start. Finish an offered Play update and reopen the app. Avoid a large update halfway through a scheduled session.
  3. Use the app’s own sharing flow. If it offers an invitation, open that flow and read what the link will share. Do not send account passwords, one-time codes or recovery information.
  4. Confirm the actual destination. After following an invitation, check the account, game mode and table message. A successful app launch is only the first part of joining.
  5. Make the first table a test. Confirm everyone understands draw, discard and declaration before committing to a longer session.

When a friend cannot find you

Start by asking whether the issue is identity, visibility or access. Identity means the game is showing an unexpected player account. Visibility means the account is correct but a social feature does not list the expected person. Access means an invitation or room route opens but joining fails. These are different problems, and a screenshot of the exact message helps distinguish them.

For an identity problem, check the sign-in method originally used. For a visibility problem, inspect the app’s current supported social connection and privacy choices. For an access problem, check the invitation’s age, the displayed table conditions and whether the session is still active. Do not repeatedly disconnect accounts or clear application storage as a first experiment.

Keep a shared session comfortable

A private conversation is useful for coordinating the start time; it should not become a way to share hidden hands during a competitive table. Follow the app’s fair-play rules. Agree that anyone can stop when the planned session ends, even if the previous hand was disappointing.

If the app does not currently offer the exact friend-table feature you expected, treat that as a product limitation to verify, not a broken phone setting. The listing describes social play, but available controls can differ by release and account. A support question naming the missing feature, app version and device is more useful than installing an unrelated package that promises to unlock it.

What to record for support

Keep the device models, app versions, the invitation time and the exact joining error. Include your player ID only through the developer’s private support channel. You can describe the other participant as “the invited player” in public reports, rather than publish their account details. For repeated disconnects after joining, use our connection checklist before changing the social setup again.
